First planets found around sun-like stars in a cluster

Astronomers have, for the first time, spotted planets orbiting sun-like stars in a crowded cluster of stars. The findings offer the best evidence yet that planets can sprout up in dense stellar environments. Although the newfound planets are not habitable, their skies would be starrier than what we see from Earth.<img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/sciencedaily/space_time/astronomy/~4/vNGRHWeDh6g" height="1" width="1"/>

Any planet around another star is a little out of our reach, technologically. I am understating this fact.

All the same, it's good to keep finding more. If planets are very common (highly likely) then life maybe fairly common too.

I agree, Snowy, but that begs the question of why we've not gathered any definitive proof (or even hard evidence) of their existence. I think that a million or so years ago, they saw what we were capable of becoming, and put us in some sort of "selective electromagnetic quarantine", so that we wouldn't be able to detect anyone till they were good and ready to let us. Smiley Yes, that sounds far-fetched, but no more so than some other "theories" that are floating about. Cheesy

Dave, as well you know, it's due to the galactic Cricket Wars that all sentient races hold in reverence. Except only the English could make a game out of it.

I know Dave will get this reference but does anyong else?
