Made a few changes to the sites homepage, it’s displaying some more info about the latest trends and stats, also added a forum search.

Did something similar to the header on the main forum index page a couple of days ago too.

Not sure why, just felt like doing it  Grin

On a scale of 1 to 10 I would say I’m somewhere around 4 or 5 when it comes to php, a year ago would have seen me at 1, so im getting there but have a way to go.

At one point I nearly contacted you Freddy for some help but I kept working on it and eventually worked it out.

To get it to work I had to edit the SSI.php, which has given me some more ideas for tweaks to the site.

Well, I was all set to send another 200+ emotes your way, but the zip file was too large!

I guess I'll have to look through all you have, and send a few that you don't. Smiley

[edit]scratch that. I found that there were several files in there that should not have been. There are 214 emotes, and a text file (emotes.txt) that contains information on all of the smilies, listed by the keystrokes, file name, and image size. I think it may prove useful. Smiley

Thanks for the emotes Dave they are a nice collection for sure, but there is a problem with using some of them on a dark background site like this site, most emoticons are made for a light background and have white pixels round the edges that look pretty bad on a dark background.

I spent about 5 hours cleaning up the sixteen I added.

Having said that I have saved them on my PC and will look into adding some from it at sometime.  sign-thanks

Most of those should be ok on a dark background, since one of Morti's colour schemes for his page is a black background with white text, and I had to make sure that the emotes didn't have that annoying little white halo.

I have added a dropdown menu for the fonts on new posts, now you can select font face, colour and size easier, should you want to.

The BTT board has been renamed to Motor Sport General Discussion, now the board can be used for anything to do with motor sport, cars, engines, racing etc…

Very nice, Data. Thanks. Smiley

One request for a site tweak, if you please:

Can we maybe get a choice of notification sounds? Maybe something a bit less obtrusive? Smiley I don't want to force others to listen to something else, mind you. I just want to be able to choose between available sounds (or even to be able to choose my own, from what I have). I can provide some tiny MP3 files, if need be.

It could be done, but would need a lot of coding in parts of the site that I’m not confident with yet, fancy a go?

I’m hoping there will be a turn off option, in the next version that’s being worked on.

Sorry you find the sound  obtrusive, did try hard to get a sound that wasn’t to harsh or annoying, but its something we can look at and think how to improve.

EDIT:

I could maybe reduce the volume of the sound, it’s at about half volume now.

I'll have a look at the eNotify code, and see if I can cobble together some control panel entries for it. It's going to have to take a low priority though, until I get the porch/village room completed. BTW, I'm taking pictures, and will post them somewhere, at some point.

Just please try to remind me if you don't hear from me about it by next Wednesday. I don't want this to slip through the cracks. Smiley
