The Ultra Hal GUI skins have moved to a new and better place.

Most obvious changes are:

Users can now rate the skins, 1 to 5 stars.

Downloads are now counted, to see which is the most popular.

Any Datahopa member can now up-load their own GUI skins to the site.

NOTES:

Please up-load your skins as a .zip or .rar file.

If possible also include a screen shot of your skin in the up-loaded zip or rar.

To up load your GUI skin, go to the Up-Load File link on the right hand menu, then make sure to select the Ultra Hal player skins category and add a short description of the skin.

Don’t add an additional picture, that part isn’t working right at the moment.

If you up load to the wrong place or something isn’t right don’t worry leave it to me and I will sort it out.

I will also take a copy of your screen shot in the zip file and add it to your skins description, so it shows people what it looks like on the download page.

Datahopa,
Got everything needed for the Gui including a screenshot, will have to pull all the files together for zipping.  MY guess is I use the Upload at the left hand side, am I correct?

Yes that’s it Carl2, just goto the Up-Load File link and make sure to select the Ultra Hal player skins category. For now if you just upload the .zip with the screen shot in it I will edit the upload so the screen shot shows like it does on the others.

Don’t add an additional picture, that part isn’t working right at the moment.

It seems to be working ok, I put it in my Hal and did a screen shot of it and have added it to the download page here:

Not bad for a first attempt Carl2, easy to find the buttons and clear layout.

Datahopa,
You lit a fire under my rear, I was planing on moving onto redoing some clothiing but instead I redid the Gui.  Noticed some things I didn't expect, the User talking to Hal window displays the Mic state when SR is checked.  When SR is not checked the user talking to Hal works.
Using Hal a little more and her talking cause the breasts to move to much.  I am wondering if a sound card would help,  have you tried fody female?

Carl2:
If you have changed the skin you should be able to edit the download on the site and just up-load the new zip file, all the rest will stay the same, but the zip will get replaced.

I guess a sound card might help, it is possible, I never use onboard sound and think that a basic PCI card is the better way to go, I have a creative labs Xfi.

Never used full body characters, don’t really know much about them.

Pretty much got another skin together,  got the idea of making a pattern for use with the edges to play with the lighting.  Using PSP, went from 34Kb to 54Kb,  The size could be smaller and the pixel count increased.

Spending more time on this than I'd like, but it looks better and I'm learning how to use PSP better.   I'd found a size where 50% is about 3 x 2, 200% is a little smaller than full screen.  I was able to copy the menu and mic jpg's onto the main jpg so the text will remain the same but just found the size seems to have changed.  The numbers needed to make it work are way out of line.  Made me think of the problem you mentioned earlier.

Keep at it Carl2, if you get stuck I will check it out for you if you like, you could up-load it to the documents category.

Found the problem, a number for the demensions of the jpg was much larger than it should have been in the x direction, as you approached the left things got thrown off.
I can't get a full screen, 200% is the highest it will go.  Made some changes and I have to make sure you get the latest versions.

To me it doesn’t matter if it goes to 200% in size or not, I only ever use it them at 100%, I think they can look a bit jagged and have less detail at anything over 100%.

So that’s fine.

Yeah I found that it is best to just create something that is usable at 100% and forget about the scale options - they just look ugly when you use that.

BTW, I have some old skins in the plugins section at Zabaware, they could be moved here if you want.  Cool  I haven't tested them in Hal 6.x though and I don't have time to install Hal and figure out all the problems with quad core etc.  So if someone wants to do that, then feel free.

Can't believe it is around five years ago that I did them.  Amazing.
