Hamilton takes pole position and was a massive 0.578 faster than anyone else.

McLaren have a new higher front wing and it seems to be working well for Hamilton but Button was having problems in qualifying with an unbalanced car. Got to say its still the most beautiful car on the track, by a long way, even with the higher front end.

One thing worried me and that was that Hamilton had to stop the car on the track and didn’t bring it home, as I’m typing this there is no explanation of what happened, but if it’s gear box or engine he could end up with a grip penalty.

This Grand Prix will be fantastic (all the drivers say "fantastic" when they win) with all those furious guys running behind Hamiton. I don't want to miss that. thumbsup Grin

Unbelievable, Hamilton loses his pole and gets put back to last place on the grid angry

I know he is one of the best drivers in the world but even he can’t win from there, what does the poor guy have to do headbang

Gutted, really gutted  Cry

Was a bit silly not having enough fuel to get back and provide the required sample though.

I admit it was the teams fault, but I still think Hamilton should be in the top 10, ok maybe 10th on the grid, he made it threw Q1 and Q2 without any problems  confused

10th would have been fair to my mind, but what am I saying? It’s Lewis, they always punish him to the max  Evil

Well done to Maldonado, McLarens problems aside really nice to see Williams back on the top step it's been way too long.

Yes really nice to see Williams back to their winning ways, a well deserved win.

Raikkonen is looking very strong to me, been scoring some solid points, I reckon he will be there fighting for the world title come the end of the year.

Good race, Hamilton fights back to 8th from 24th, not a shabby attempt. Button didn’t seem to have much pace at all finishing 9th.

The McLaren was quick but it was very quick in the “Mickey Mouse” small twisty bit of the track, which should mean it’s going to fly in the next race a Monaco.

Hamilton will win there  bounce

I read that the last Williams win was Brazil in 2004, frankly that is unbelieveable for a team that was dominant in the 80's and 90's

Sometimes in F1, when it goes wrong it can really go wrong, easy to get it wrong, very hard to get it right.

I guess team Williams next battle will be keeping it right, the next big test.

I hope they do, we really want as many teams at the top able to compete as possible, I want to see truely competative racing where is down to the drivers talent who wins rather than who has the best car.

I do appreciate that is a personal opinion and that the development of the cars is just as important to F1 as the drivers themselves though

Wow, seems quite bad too, at least no one was too badly injured, though smoke inhalation can bit a bit nasty.

All the best to the Force India mechanic.
