I placed a under construction video on my site yesterday, of trinity(flash version, not Hal)
I was thinking about placing a .swf of Trinity in the spot were the video is. And she would welcome all my guests. I would of course have to do some re-coding, code a pre-loader, and a pause/play feature.

So what do you guys think?

The video is informative, for a start I didn’t know you could click the logo to return to the homepage, it worked  Smiley

I do like the idea of the .swf of Trinity too, gets a thumbs up from me  thumbsup

For anyone that can’t find the site in question here is a link:

The Trinity UnderConstruction.swf is now up on the site.
NOTE: There is no preloader yet so you have to wait to the page is fully loaded.
I think it looks great, what do you guys think?

I think it looks good, did take a while to load like you said it would, hopefully after the pre loader is installed it will speed up some.

I wonder what others think...

Thanks Data,
I'm afraid even with a pre-loader it might not speed things up, it will just show a loading progress bar.
The only thing that might speed it up(but it is only a guess) is if I remove the audio from the flash file and place it in a folder on the server, then have flash upload the audio.
My wife suggested I change the colors of the sound wave analyzers to red, to match the site better. I sorta agree with her and will probably change it in the end, but I'm not to keen about it.

Same here, I would be greatly appreciated if I could get others opinions.

Hmm I just timed how long it took the SWF to load, bear in mind I'm running a 20Mb cable connection and it took, 1 min and 37 seconds  Shocked, that is a huge loading time Syber, something is going to have to be done about that.

Maybe it’s a bad connection to me over here in England, or something about my ISP and your server not getting on, I don’t know.

Please can someone else test it for Syber with their connection.

Ten second to load here.

It does look better than embedding youtube though....

thanks Freddy for testing, your isp must be being good to you Smiley
it takes me 42 seconds, on a shift + refresh.
I might just have to re-code the whole thing and to try and make the file size smaller than it's previous 3.02 MB (3,171,205 bytes). <<with mp3 file included
scratch-head If that does not work I will have to blame papervisions 3D engine lol
I been playing with Trinity's code all night, updates are on the forum.  gonna try and get some sleep for now, before the kids come home
Thanks again x 2 sincerely SyberShot

10 sec load for me, today.

Though the first visit I did, I didn't see the talking 'hal' (hally?) eyeball bit so was prob longer load.

I do like the layout. There is a 1 X pix black line below the eyeball bit that looks odd. Minor point.

the flash eyeball looking avatar load time is definitely taking way to long, I need to do something about that scratch-head

I wish I could take credit for the layout but that goes to the templates creator. I went with it for its clean look, and hoped I would save some time. I'm starting to believe that I should of just designed my own site. This template idea is not all that bad, it just creates alteration issues and a bit of frustration.

I can't seem to get that line to show on firefox or I.E. with a 1440x900 or smaller resolution
Only thing I can think of that can cause this, is the flash player stretching due to screen resolutions. I believe I have set the stage in flash to no_scale to stop this, but I will double check.

I got the file size down to 665 KB (681,739 bytes) thumbsup
I now get about 10 seconds for the flash to load. that's not to bad, but I would still like a bit faster load time if possible without loosing detail.

I changed the stop button. and I got the problem solved about not being able to play it, once stopped. So now you can click the stop button, then click the play button for the message to restart playing from the beginning  Cheesy
instead of
Code:
so.play;
I had to use
Code:
channel=so.play;

Doughhh!!!!! I forgot to check on the Stage no_scale  Sad I will have to check on that and also build a preloader.

It looks nicer and matches the site better in red, the wife was right  Grin

Loading time is down to 12 seconds for me, must be an ISP thing but I tried it twice and can't get it down to 5 seconds like Freddy.

yea she usually is correct, although I don't always admit Smiley

Freddy what you got, a T1 going strait to your house   lol

Thanks for testing that for me, 12 seconds is not too bad I guess. I still will try and bring it down, but it's priority can get moved down the list of things to do for now Smiley

next up is some graphics for the side of the orb. Two vents maybe, one for each side like K.I.T.T. has. Maybe I should look into seeing if that would be a copyright issue first though scratch-head
