Re: Electric Cars
I enjoyed the film, the antlers were a nice Christmas thing, I also watched a 2018 Nissan film, it seems they have a very good start since they have made so many cars already.

Re: Electric Cars
The college I attended in Carson City already has that tech installed in much of their outdoor lighting, especially in areas around the backs of buildings, and remote parking areas. Not only does it save energy (and thus, money), it also makes for less overall light pollution, which is great for the observatory up the hill. It's more or less the same motion detection tech available elsewhere, but instead of it being an all or nothing thing, it's a dim/bright thing, which is safer. I rather like the idea, and wish more places would employ this sort of lighting.

Re: Electric Cars
Neat idea Freddy and some good points Dave
It's technology like this that will help EV's in the long run too, all the talk of "where is the power going to come from to power the electric cars" Well much of it will come from new technologies that save massive amounts of power that we waste already. Just changing all the street lights to LED would be a huge saving then having them dimmable like this will take it another step forward in savings.
Looking forward to 2018, hoping that a surge in EV ownership is going to happen, with the new Leaf coming out and plenty of other new EV's this could be the turning point year

Re: Electric Cars
As promised by Robert of Fully Charged, they've released a number of videos from the Tokyo Motor Show. Here are two of them:

Re: Electric Cars
Good to see Honda finally embrace the here and now, they seem to have been obsessed over the last 10 years with hydrogen powered cars but lets be honest, it's got them nowhere.
Well done Honda, better late than never.
The concept cars look great but full kudos will only be given when we start to see Honda EV's on the road.

Re: Electric Cars
I saw a new Nissan Leaf 2018 on the road yesterday, which is a little odd because I don't think the car has been officially released yet.

Re: Electric Cars
Great to see the Australians taking the new electric boom seriously, admittedly some of this technology is still prototype but heading in the right sustainable direction.
Good vid Snowy

Re: Electric Cars
With advancements being made in transport toward a more sustainable future, perhaps it's fitting that we should discuss more than electric cars here. I think that Snowy's video share isn't as off topic as one might think, so here's another one about electric trains from Fully Charged:

Re: Electric Cars
I think it's possible that trains might be one of the places we see hydrogen being used, so yeah it's possible but the development does seem to be going to battery powered trains.
Got to post the latest FullyCharged vid, an outlook of things to come in electric cars and the up-take of the technology, very informative, balanced with a bit of humour.
Erik Fairbairn, the founder & CEO of POD Point, the manufacturer of the charger I have fitted at home. I also use POD Point public chargers from time to time. He knows his stuff.
