Hi, everyone! I'm Dave.   Please ignore the earlier byplay, because if you don't, you'll just be encouraging more of the same.  

Anyway, Some of you may know me from other places, with other names.   If that's the case, I'm so sorry.   Data, I love the look of the place!

Hi Dave, good to see you and thanks for joining, you might find some of the discussion here to your taste; we do talk about all kinds of things.

That reflection thing works best in IE, it reflects the movement too, I know in Chrome and FireFox it doesn’t, It will one day, maybe  

To me it looks like your avatar is a little large and its making a scrollbar along the bottom, not a complaint just an observation.

And as with all new members you are limited on what functions you can use when posting, until you have made an undisclosed amount of posts.

Thanks, folks, for the warm and friendly words. We'll see if those types of words will continue, once you get to know me. Many of the forums that I frequent deal with Artificial Intelligence (as opposed to "natural stupidity"), and a goodly number are professional/academic in nature, so I have to be on my "best behavior" there. It's nice to be able to relax a bit.

Oh yes we excel in natural stupidity you should fit in just fine Dave 

There aren’t many forums where I feel at home and can relax either, Ai Dreams or here are for me, exceptions to the rule.

We have some smart people here, well Snowcrash  , he walks the fine line between brilliance and insanity rather well

Well, I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone here. I've already stumbled upon Snowy's wallpapers, and the astronomy section, and I'm in shear heaven! I'm still poking around, so I'm sure someone's going to think I'm some sort of spammer, at first, with all the new posts I expect to be making.

I found a self-made bug in the “Use external avatars” part of our profiles, think it’s corrected now, your avatar Dave is no longer getting resized.

Hadn’t found that bug before because no one had used an external avatar.
