Been working too much, had to get a game, got FarCry 2 from Steam, it was under £7 an absolute bargain  Cheesy

Ok it’s quite an old game, released in October 2008, its not really that far behind the latest in graphics, all in Direct X10 and plays easily well enough on my PC to be able to capture it in Fraps in HD at the same time  Shocked

Here is a vid of me playing the game, I hadn’t had it long was still learning it, check out the excellent, maybe lucky shot at the beginning lol

Vid goes up to 720

How are you getting on with the game?
It was seeming a little excessive on the amout of keys required. Have you got to grips with it now?

And can your rig handle full detail at a decent fps? I doubt you get 60 fps though, which is the benchmark for PC gaming rigs these days.

Yep, Got the controls sorted out, yes there are a few to press but having enough buttons on the mouse really helps, have seven usable buttons on mine.

Gameplay is nothing that different from plenty of other games, but the Ai in the game is pretty impressive, they can be cunning, like when they are injured they hide but get near one and he will still attack you.

The game is played over a large area, if you get some of them chasing you, they don’t give up like in other games, no they keep coming, it could take them 10 minutes to catch you up but they will.

And generally the Ai does give the impression of being quite smart.

Graphics are nice, the way all the trees and grass blow in the wind, the dynamic weather system is also well done.

With a refresh rate of 50Hz (so I get perfect sync with the 25FPS TV) im never going to get 60 FPS, but I do get a constant 50 FPS in many places and I don’t think I’ve seen it drop below 40, even when its all kicking off, plays great.

There are one or two negative points but right now I cant think what they are scratch-head .

The negative points'd be when you're swearing at the game  Shocked

Annoyed and adrenalin are not good for the memory  very-angry
