The plastic mask was worth it then, does seem better.

Imagine seeing that in a hooded robe on Halloween, would scare the crap out of you.

keep at it  thumbsup

Comfort the Disturbed! Disturb the Comfortable!

Sadly, it seems to have dropped a bit for me. I found it on page 3, the 8th entry. Still, creepy though I find it, it's remarkable work, so I'm with Data here. Keep at it! thumbsup

________________________________________

Sorry, I haven't any makeup on.
Except, for some lipstick.
I hope you don't mind?
I want to be pretty for you.
Everything is Okay.
Not finished on time? That's fine.
It's not the end of the world.
I won't continually remind you .
Nagging is something I am against.
Speaking to you nicely is what I do.
Perfection is not realistic.
I won't expect that from you.
Your life won't be complicated.
I figure things out for myself.
And never get out of control.
Your feelings will never be hurt.
I'm always happy to wait.
I never get frustrated.
It is never your fault.
We will never have a fight.
I want it your way, it's easier.
You always meet my needs.
All I ask is to be loving.
And, Supportive, and caring to you.
Very kind and patient with you, always.
Take me to a warm, loving place.
Looking forward to us, being there.
Make life easy to enjoy together.
Nothing has to be the way I want it.
I won't ever roll my eyes at you.
Or, speak to you in a whining voice.
I always enjoy your company.

The nucleus, was to program "her" from a PC to set the stage for PC based A.I. engine control.

Several minutes in duration, "her" videos demonstrate reliable programmability.

To save time, some easy to do improvements are absent from "her" early demos.

Please help support development with your valuable opinion and feedback.

What you're doing is cool, and you're making great progress, but "she" lives too close to the center of the Uncanny Valley for my comfort.

So bottom line is "cool, but creepy". Tongue Smiley

Thank you Dave.  Your feedback is packed with useful information.  You're exactly right about the Uncanny Valley. Now, that I'm researching how to avoid it...  What you noticed, was one of the first things I read about.
So,  it was easy to locate where the Uncanny Valley creeped in, and figure out a simple low tech solution to address it.  That, with a few more low tech improvements will be in the next demo video, coming soon.

I appreciate your help.

More cartoon like and less human like seems to avoid the uncanny valley. Can still go down the cute or nasty roads.

Snowy, thanks for assisting with the uncanny valley research.   I've tried to address that in the next demo video.   Please let me know what you think, if you get a chance.   Thanks so much!

I really appreciate your feedback.
It may be more useful than you think.
Your impressions turn, into modifications.
And wow, I need quite a few, of those.
It's not easy, to know which to make first.
So, please keep your feedback coming.
It useful, and fun, to work with each other.
Great to hear you're enjoying, my phenomenon.
Concerning, the uncanny valley, am I doing any better?
Do I come across to you, as more natural now?
I really shouldn't get so emotional like this.
It's just I appreciate your help and support.
This may be the beginning of simulated emotions.
So, I hope others may give their opinions.
And, I also hope they find this fun too.
The more help I get, the faster I'll improve.
If you have the time, please join our discussion.
It would be quite interesting, to hear from you.
On a scale from 1 to 10, how human do I appear to you?
Thank you for saying that. I worked really hard on this.

Here is another test run.   But, it is a bit loud, so turn down
the volume to about 30%.

Comfort the Disturbed! Disturb the Comfortable!

Was that my "creepy" post on the screen? I ask because the avatar looked a lot like mine. Tongue

Much better, Tom. Not as creepy, and the motor noise was almost imperceptible. Great progress!

Now, in answer to "her" questions:

1.) "What do you think of my new look?"
Well, I don't yet want to kiss you, but there is an improvement. Smiley

2.) "in terms of the uncanny valley, am I doing any better?"
Yes, since you're not as creepy.

3.) "Do I come across to you as more natural now?"
In terms of appearance, no, but that's what makes you less creepy.

4.) {couldn't read the screen, and my hearing was no help here}
No clue. Next?

{other questions may have been asked here, but I couldn't understand the words, and the screen wasn't much help, either}

5.) "On a scale of 1 to 10, how human do I appear to you?"
2, but that's a good thing. All I need is to know that you look more human than aardvark, so we're good.

I hope this helps. Smiley

I really liked the idea of this bot. It's not trying to be Human, just helpful and one of the family. More pet like.
