I had similar problem with IE8 & 9, it would not hold my router password (Lynksys).

I have a new router now and it works fine (Netgear). Weird.

It might be some kind of security problem / issue that’s my guess.

Havant totally given up finding a solution.

I have set a short cut to desk top via chrome options. User name and password are loaded automatically. Been checking this over the last few days, so far no problems. thumbsup

Thanks Data, but it seems that all is not that simple.

The short cut has gone from my desk-top, although I haven't binned it and, for the last couple of days, Chrome has been loading my details automatically. Today though, this was not the case. Having entered my details as usual, a pop-up from Chrome enquired if Chrome should save my pass-word, I've clicked save, so let's see what happens.

It sounds like your Chrome up-dated itself and reset a few things, I say sounds like because I don’t really understand how Chrome keeps up to date but for me it does.

I never get prompted to up-date chrome but when you check in the “About Chrome” option it always says “up to date”

Its like it sneakily checks for up-dates and then installs them without asking, but that’s only a guess.
