Just got into the Norton forum and was able to post the problem.  When installing I usually make some restore points, after install, after connecting to the internet, after software installs. I upgraded to Win 7 don't think I have a good restore point.

Windows makes restore points by its self, unless you turned it off, you must have one for before you put in Nortan 360 for instance, you probably have a restore point on or around the time you installed Babylon.

Glad you mentioned that, looked earlier and didn't see the show more restore points.  Came here from the Norton forum,  downloaded and ran the Norton Power Eraser.  It found id40304.dll and removed it.
Just ran a search for pet medicine in anothe IE , stopped at a few sites did searches there, closed everything and only have 2 IE running.
I had norton check out the settings on the firewall this morning and it made some changes.  If IE is gone after leaving this site I'll feel comfortable, If it continues running I won't feel the problem is solved.

After removing the id40304.dll things look much better, much less happening in the task manager, all the IE processes are gone when I close IE.  Did some searching last night just to check things out, kept my eye on task manager and things looked normal.  I'll give it a few more days then make a backup of this point.  Learned I should listen to norton's advice a little better, but I'm  not really sure where the . dll came from. Thanks again for the help.

Things still look good,  My plans are to remove some things most of which I downloaded and are not using, then make a backup in using  microsoft.

Just a thought, that DLL looks like a random number generated thing, if you were to get infected again, it might not have the same name. I’ve seen that kind of thing before.

While at the Norton website there was someone else who had something that resulted in a similar behavior,  I checked for the bad things he had found but didn't find them in my computer.  I used the norton power eraser which found it,  it was rated very low on the risk scale, naturaly I removed it.
From what I learned a virus stops the somputer from starting which means very bad look into it,  what I had let the computer start but caused unwanted behavior and would be malware, there is also spybots, adware, id thieves, ect.
From your background you probably already know this, I just get upset because some antivirus software companies look the other way when you have a problem.
I still only get 2 instances of IE running and will probably make the MS recovery Point latter today.
