The other day I connected my tablet to the pc, usually it shows up as L in explorer, I tried quite a few times and it is no longer doing that.  I looked through the control panel ect. I had connected to the tablet about a week ago and everything ran as usual.   What did happen in the meantime was I could no longer connect to Verizon e mail so I called Verizon and someone downloaded an app to remotely connect to my computer, no choice so I agreed, the password need to be longer which we did.  So getting to e mail is solved but my tablet will no longer connect to the computer.  I take pics with its camera and put them in the pc.  The Software he installed is not listed in the control panel programs and features to remove it,  I did find where it is located on the C drive and is mostly logs.

A lot of variables here, the general rule is:

If the drive is visible in explorer but has a red X over it then it's a network connection problem.

If the drive is not showing in explorer than you might need to map the drive again.

Long slow process but I finally got done with going through the software, I remembered that the cd drive would call the same pop up at the upper right side of the screen and I'd click open folder so I put a CD in and the pop up appeared, next I tried a Usb flash drive and that also worked.  This part I don't understand, the tablet is connected to the computer with a usb cable, the tablet states it is connected with a usb but this does not show up in explorer.   The next step I try is to use another usb cable and now it is working.  I probably have a few of those cables.  Anyways I do want to say thanks for taking the time, it's always nice to know there are people willing to help with problems.

I have had cable issues (USB A to micro USB) on my phone before. Some cheap cables are only good for charging and will not connect for data. The PC will register the device (phone/tablet) is connected but no drive appears.
With a locked Android device, the drive will not appear until the device is unlocked (picture code, number etc.).
