Found some settings here...

https://sites.google.com/site/mandelbulber/example-settings

That site has a manual of sorts.

I'm getting better. Still trying to work out some parameters that give better quality image on high res. Will post my findings.

I broke down and installed the 64 bit version on the laptop, and so far no crashes. I suspect that the desktop may have a bad SSD after all, as it's irretrievably crashed again this morning. I'm going to have to re-install Windows, then run some tests on the drive. {SIGH!} Cry

For the first attempt it’s not bad at all, short but sweet.

Nice one Dave, if that's your first attempt, I can't wait to see what you will produce later.  sign-great-job

If you've checked out mikmoth's images from the VHF link I've provided, then you've seen a still of the next one I want to do. It's the one with the iridescent globules and the spikes.

I've sort of changed my mind. The attached image is the first frame of the new animation - 960 frames, that will take around 16 hours to render, and another 4 to upload to YouTube (most likely), and around a minute to watch. Undecided

Once the animation render is complete, I'll do a full sized render of that first frame, and of any other frames that look interesting.

It's just after 3PM here, and I started the render around 2 hours ago. It's now on frame 190 of 960, or about 20% complete. At this rate, we're looking at between 11PM and 1AM local time for it to complete.

Better late than never, I guess. Smiley But a few warnings, first:

1.) Until I get the animation controls figured out, this will be the last animation render, for quite a few reasons (some more obvious than others).
2.) This video is REALLY ROUGH, and I debated with myself whether to post it, or just delete it.
3.) Don't worry about being gentle. I was probably tougher on myself than you folks could be. Tongue

Ok, enough excuses and stalling:

3d Fractal Render - PHALE!

The whole idea here was to do a quick cruise around, to see various things in the environment. Problem is, I had some trouble with the coordinates in a couple of spots, and would have had to render the entire animation again, just to fix them, and that just wasn't going to happen. The final frame count was something on the order of 1,085 total frames, because I had to insert some text effects to "hide" the worst of the glitches. From now on, I think I'll stick to the still images. Smiley

Still a good effort, ok maybe not 10 out of 10 but getting there.

I guess if we made some nice and unique hi-res fractal wallpapers for the gallery that would be good for the site, so I’m more than happy for some of them, or any stills really  Smiley
