Comfort the Disturbed! Disturb the Comfortable!

It seems that Dan and Gav were playing in my neck of the woods...

Sorry about that, Snowy. I know this is your thing, but I figured that every rare once in awhile I could try to sneak one in.

By the way, Gav pronounced my state wrong. The 'a' sound is the same as when you say 'apple', not when you say 'author'. Who cares that the word comes from the Spanish language, where most 'a' sounds are pronounced like a lowercase 'o'? Tongue

No offence taken. Feel free to 'beat me to it'. I have a tendency to slack these days.

I never know how to pronounce towns/cities. Do you do it in your own accent, how they do it and what spelling.

Oh, that one's easy. Tongue

Are - can - saw

NOT

Are - can - zass

For Nevada, it's a bit tougher to spell out phonetically, so I won't even try. Smiley

We have a place called Happisburgh in Norfolk on the coast.

For some reason it's pronounced haze-bruh.

I did know Arkansas.

Prince Rupert's Drops = tougher than a speeding bullet, also known as Dutch tears.

I saw these things on TV, they hit the bulbous end hard with a hammer and it bounced off but ... slightly nick the tail and it exploded, that's residual stress for ya.

Impressive and slightly strange.
