HTML5 Site Changes

Recently the site has been up-dated, some of the up-dates are HTML5, to view the site correctly you will need a browser that supports HTML5, IE9 or Google Chrome would do.

If you don’t see the site with rounded corners and dropdown shadows, as it is in the screenshot, and you have an HTML5 browser, press Ctrl and F5 on your keyboard and hold them down for a couple of seconds, to force a re-load.

You might want to do that on any page that doesn’t look right, including www.datahopa.co.uk, which has had a redesign too.

It makes me think of hifi separates for some reason, kinda modular or something. Good work

I thought the search modules looked like a stacked HiFi too, Im liking the new look site Kiss

took me a while to get it how I wanted it but well worth the work.

Looked a little odd with the square corners and no drop shadow on them.

Looking much better with all curved corners and all drop shadow.

Just to be me Shocked

Whilst writing this I notice 'post reply' section has not been Datacurveyshadowified.

And you've changed the background colour to 1 colour in the main gallery sections. Looks better in IE9 now.

Yeah I had the idea to make all the public parts of the site with that technique and leave most of the private stuff alone, I’ve noticed that I’ve missed a few of the public blocks, will get round to doing them at some point.

And yes I have had to tweak parts of the gallery to get it to display right in all browsers, some lovely “bad HTML” did the job nicely innocent

So much more important to have the site display right rather than making the site conform to standards. IMHO.

I’ve had a couple of e-mails, people saying that they don’t see the rounded corners or shadows on the site.

This site is now HTML5 you have to use a modern browser to view all the latest Internet techniques.

Personally I cant understand why anyone would use an old browser, we are constantly warned of viruses and nasty things on the web, common sense says to up-date to the latest version but still people are using IE6, 7 and 8.

People with XP should use Google Chrome or Firefox because Microsoft refuse to make IE9 for XP.
