And so the Red Bull is here:

And the big question is, have they reintroduced th F-Duct with that hole in the stepped nose?

Re: 2012 Red Bull

It’s the best looking of the stepped nose cars so far, now I wonder if Mclaren might have made a mistake, if Newey thinks it’s the best way, well he’s normally right.

What is that hole in the nose all about though, your guess is as good as mine DD.

Re: 2012 Red Bull

Could it be a bit of sandbagging introduced on a launch car???

Who knows at this stage, I'm sure we will find out soon.

I just posted an article on the Mclaren which i thinkwill go some way to expaining the Mclaren appraoch, there was one diagram that surpised the hell out of me in there in realtion to the height of the nose on the Mclaren.

Re: 2012 Red Bull

and so Adrian Newey explains the hole in the step as "driver cooling"......do we believe him?

Re: 2012 Red Bull

It’s possible I guess, an over heated driver would have a detrimental effect on the cars performance and I don’t think Mr Newey is renowned for BS.

I believe him.

Re: 2012 Red Bull

It seems somewhat large to be purely for this purpose only, when taken in context of the hole that used to be in the extreme nose of the old car for the driver cooling.

I can't help thinking that it does more than just that.

We will find out soon enough I'm sure  flag flag
