Lewis Hamilton is the best driver Britain has produced since Mansell. Quite possibly the best driver we have ever produced. He showed up the two time world champ Fernando Alonso in his first season.

Yes Lewis, rookie. beat a two-time world champ, lets not forget that, as far as I know that has never happened before, a rookie beating his team mate who was a world champion.
He is special, most people tuning into F1 are doing it to see Hamilton pull off some masterful overtaking manoeuvre, I know I am, he is quite simply a class act.

I couldn’t agree more with you guys either:

If you take luck out of the equation I think this sums up Lewis Hamilton.

Put Lewis in a good car and you know he will score good points or win, put him in a not so good car and you know he will at least score points or maybe get on the podium.

No other F1 driver appears to have his overtaking skill or the hunger he has to win, beat the rest and make them all look like amateurs.

I think back to Silverstone 2008, in the wet, what a race, most of the other drivers were sliding off the track, spinning and generally having a bad day but Lewis took it in his stride, didn’t really put a foot wrong and won the race easily.

I was so impressed with Lewis that day that I made a video sim of the race in GP4.

I still want to see a head to head battle with Hamilton and Button.
The closest they came to it was last year (not sure of race) when Hamilton was closing on Button near the end of a race but crashed out on final or 2nd to last lap. He was trying too hard that day but that is no critisism. His trying too hard is what us fans love about him.
I have heard people call him arrogant but I feel it is more confident in his abilities. That confidence in overtaking is what can put pressure on a lesser driver.

Now they both have the same car I can only hope...

Nice sim, very clever and proves you are a true F1 fan to take the time and effort. I would also put my money on Lewis over Button every time, dont get me wrong Button is a good driver but he is jst missing that killer instinct and speed that makes Lewis so good. I want to see Lewis against Vettel in similar machinery. Everyone raves about Vetel, he is no doubt one of the best on the grid however he has not been truly tested yet. Webber matched his pace all race long in Malaysia and I wouldnt rate Webber as a world class driver. Lewis has already beaten a 2 times champ in Alonso and is outpacing if not outscoring (not for long) Button at the moment. If Button beats Lewis this year I will be amazed.

So we all agree, Lewis Hamilton is class 

Lewis can win this year, its early days, Mclaren will improve the car soon then, watch this space, I believe
