The 2012 season starts here, don’t know about anyone else but the winter break has been too long for me, I need my fix of racing on a regular basis.

So what’s going to happen? Who has the quickest car?

If we look at testing times, which isn’t the best way but really the only way right now, I would say RedBull probably have the fastest car and maybe McLaren is second, after that its anyone’s guess.

We wont know anything for sure until qualifying on Saturday, at least the Australian track is a good all rounder and should give us a good idea of where the cars and teams stand performance wise.

Lets hope no team has total dominance and that we see a close fight at the front.

Bring it on  Cool

Don't think we can read too much into the Friday practice to be honest, some serious sandbagging going on from Red Bull I think there!!!

Good to see Massa was still using too much kerb and span it.  Cheesy

Hopefully Massa and Hamilton can keep it clean this year.

I'm not too sure they will be seeing each other a lot this year judging by the state of the Ferrari car........Except when Massa sees the blue flags as Hamilton comes round to lap him that is  Grin

Excellent start to the season with not one but two McLarens on the front row.

RedBull do have a bit of catching up to do, have to say I’m surprised at that.

I don’t expect Mercedes to be quite as quick in the race, their controversial F duct wont be able to be used as much, only in the DRS zones.

Really didn’t expect to see Romain Grosjean in the Lotus-Renault @ third, good lap from him and what looks like a quick car from the team.

Got to be a McLaren win hasn’t it?

Go go Jenson, go go Lewis  driving driving

Lets have another look at Lewis Hamiltons pole lap

Is it me or does that car look super quick round the corners.

No, I don't think it's you, Data. Now, imagine yourself going through that same course in your current auto. A video of that same lap would likely take over 5 minutes. Smiley With my beat up old truck, I'm thinking 10. thumbsup

Yes it might take me 5 minutes in my car, squealing round the corners  lol, would love to try it, wouldn’t look impressive but I would feel like a champ and in my head all the fans would be cheering me on, oh! to dream  Smiley

LOL Diesel, sounds fun  Grin

Jenson Button wins  yahoo and makes it look easy , not that it was easy.

Lewis was unlucky with the safety car or he would have got 2nd, but Vettel clinched that.

So as predicted, its McLaren and RedBull at the front, with McLaren having a little advantage. Mercedes didn’t quite have the race pace in their car today.

Was surprised to see the pace of the Ferrari being as quick as it was, Alonso getting 5th with it, he must have driven the wheels off. Massa found another car to drive in to, giving Hamilton a break  lol.

Good return by Raikkonen in the Lotus, both car and driver are looking pretty handy.

1 down  flag 19 to go Jenson, you can do it  thumbsup
