Aphantasia: No Minds Eye

I thought this was an interesting story, this poor guy has no minds eye, he can't see things in his head. The condition is called Aphantasia and it affects around 50% of the population in varying amounts.

Science is getting there.

Yes interesting.

I visualise a lot of stuff in my mind - particularly programming problems - not sure if that's the same thing, but I don't know what I would do without it.

Re: Aphantasia: No Minds Eye

It's the same for me, a valuable tool, without it I couldn't make the things I do. Sometimes I see and hear inside my mind, years ago they would have said I'm mad, now it's normal and people without it have Aphantasia.

In a way you are seeing into the future, think about it, we see it in our mind even though it doesn't exist in the real world yet, we then create it and bring it to the real world.

Creative people have a lot to answer for  lol

Also, sorry about this people.

Dreams are the same thing but even more powerful.

Quote
"#9 Dream" came to Lennon in a dream. Lennon has said that the song was just "churned out" with "no inspiration".

Quote
That's what I call craftsmanship writing, meaning, you know, I just churned that out. I'm not putting it down, it's just what it is, but I just sat down and wrote it, you know, with no real inspiration, based on a dream I'd had.

Re: Aphantasia: No Minds Eye

I like that one a lot  Smiley

I made a boo boo though - I misread - in your earlier post I thought it was the song "Number 9" by the Beatles....

#9 Dream really is nice.  Smiley
