Starting with...

Tractorpulling insane engine blow up, Engine flys out of the tractor!

Where did the engine go?

ouch that would make for a real bad day. I saw a piston come flying out the side of block due to a bad rod bearing clearence, but never have I seen a block blow and split apart quite like that.

Yeah, I couldn’t believe it at first, did the block completely disappear, yup it did Shocked

Sorry about the add at the beginning, it was the only vid I could find of it.

Not only has the engine catastrophically failed, the guy the drives over it to boot.

I have seen many engines that have "thrown a leg out of bed" or "popped a lung" and been directly involved with diagnosing the root cause, ie mechanical failure or driver failure. (The latter termed N.B.S.A. or Nut Behind Steering-wheel Adrift.)

Having checked through that vid, with particular interest during the Slo-Mo bit, it can be seen that the pistons are stationary indicating a snatch seizure of the crank-shaft. Given the muck they run these things on, probably the same muck as F1, which, essentially, is a controlled explosion during the power stroke x2 for a V8, something has got to give. In this case, the block decided to part company with the crank-case.

Personally, I think I would be looking back further along the drive line as a snatch seizure of this style usually results in the crank-shaft being spat out.

I didn’t expect such an in-depth explanations of what happened to the engine in the video when I posted it.

Rekon you’re right, something jammed, maybe gearbox area, and the engine flung its way out of the tractor.

Been looking around Youtube for some more vids and it seems there is a group or colt of people that blow up engines for fun confused

Thanks Diesel for the show, First time I seen one of those explode outside of an aircraft. I always imaged the bang would have been much bigger though.

When I watch these I remember the muscle car I had once. She was a Saab 900 Turbo. Chipped, Gated, Gas Flowed and Water Injected, what a tool. Thought I had sold her in the end, apparently not, I gave her away as I was never paid. Ended up in Court to boot, as the Git I thought I had sold it to, kept it for a couple of weeks, then decided it was too powerful for him and sold it to some Goon who wrapped it around a tree in Cardiff. As the last registered owner, the unpaid Parking Tickets and the abandoned subsequent wreckage, was down to me. Happy Days. Roll Eyes
