And you don’t have to have Windows 8 either to run USB 3, as long as you have the drivers for the PCI e card or motherboard (if the USB is on motherboard) it should work fine in XP, Vista and Win 7. 

200MB/s is 1.6G bit. Or 1.6 times faster than giga bit ethernet or 16 times faster than 100 mega bit ethernet .
