What would YOU get for Five Thousand Quid?

If you had around five grand to spend on a box, what would you get? I did some online window shopping, and made up this list. I hope you like it.

(please note that I really TRIED to stay under $5,000USD, but the large monitor was JUST TOO PRETTY to pass up!)

You could afford Windoze then. The 2 x 512GB SSDs are a bit over the top. 1 would be fine + 2TB mass storage HDD

I'd have 2 x graphics cards and a beefier PSU.

Could prob get away with 4 x 8GB RAM

I assume you will be using the two SSD’s in RAID 0, so I can see why you have gone for them thumbsup

Not sure if I would have gone for that mobo, would need to look into it a bit more but I tend to get Gigabyte boards these days, but that’s just a matter of choice.

I already have a quad core CPU so I think I would like to go for a 6 core next.

Not with a 2560 x 1600 res though

True, but I have no need for that kind of res, everything is small enough in 1080 for my old eyes and that’s on a 37 inch.

Truth be told, since I don't do a lot of gaming, but I DO do a lot of 3d image rendering, I figured that 4 cores would be more inline with my needs. Same with the 64GB of just about the fastest (and most overclock-able) RAM I could find. I have to agree about the 30" monitor, but like I said (referring to the screen res) it was just too pretty to pass up. Cheesy

Truthfully, three of the 23" monitors would be plenty, since they have HDMI inputs. That being the case, I could also do away with the speakers, as well. I've got Tinnitus (ringing in the ears) 24/7 anyway, and have had for years, so anything past the bare minimum, sound-wise, is a waste, so long as it just gets LOUD.

I don’t think many games take advantage of 6 cores they seem to be made for dual or quads, but a good professional rendering program should be able too, however not having one I can’t prove any of that Grin

I would like to have enough cash to spend on one of these, silly money yes but I just got to have one to play with and bragging rights.
